Spelunky v1.1 Trainer Tutorial Using AutoIt

This tutorial will show how to make a trainer for Spelunky v1.1 using the cheats from the Spelunky v1.1 Game Cheating Tutorial. The trainer is created using AutoIt v3.3.8.0. I had to modify the NomadMemory.au3 to work correctly with the new version of AutoIt, and have included it below.

The trainer uses the cheats as buttons - when clicked it will change the item value to 99 and freeze the value, if clicked again it will unfreeze the value.

The finished trainer is only 312 KB in size, and VirusScan.Jotti.org reports 0 false-positives for a virus (from 20 virus scanners). So no problems with users getting a false-positive virus warning.

Spelunky v1.1 Game Cheating Tutorial

For my first tutorial I wanted a game that allowed creation of multiple cheats, was freeware so everyone could download it, and was worth playing beyond the tutorial. I tested many games before I decided on Spelunky.

This game is a fun platform game that has a great replay value as each level seems to be created randomly. Things are always different, and even though I have beat the game several times I keep finding something new.

I saw several requests for cheats, help creating pointers, and such for this game as well and it seems there are not any trainers currently available. So after reading this tutorial you will be able to create your own.

I included lots of screenshots, and explained everything no matter how simple at least once, to help everyone follow along with this tutorial.

Starting the Cheat Engine Tutorial for 3D Pinball

Windows Vista and Windows 7 users can not complete one of the CE included tutorials in the help file. The tutorial is called 3D pinball for windows (pointer+code). The same is true for anyone following other cheat tutorials for 3D Pinball as well.

If you have either Windows version you know why, 3D Pinball (aka Space Cadet, and Microsoft Pinball) has been removed from Windows.

Display ASCII Art Properly on Websites and Blogs

Displaying typical monospaced, fixed-width, ASCII art online the way it looked when it was created is a challenge.

After looking online myself at several sites, viewing source code, and trying things out I have working HTML codes (which can be varied). I thought I would share the HTML code for others to include ASCII art on their sites as well.

Game Trainer Creation Tools Compared

As I just recently got back into creating game cheats I have been thoroughly looking for program tools - memory scanners, trainer builders, tutorials, etc. See the list on my Links page.

I did find one great new trainer creator Game Trainer Studio 2.0.0. I also found a tool called Trainer Maker Kit Patch v1.0 (also found at GameCopyWorld) that patches trainers created by Trainer Maker Kit to make them less likely to be flagged by virus scanners.

While getting my game cheats ready for public release I searched for a NFO text builder with limited results. I decided to build my own program, and after nearly a month of work it is done.

New PC Game Cheating Blog Online

As the title says I have started my own blog for my PC game trainers, Cheat Engine tables, tutorials on game hacking, and everything else.

The site went online November 10, 2011 and just a few days into it I nearly have the site fully operational. There are some things to do, ideally get my trainers redone with my new alias and put onto my site, and finish the last page (my About/FAQ).
